MWA Reaches 10K Enplanements for 2014

January 5, 2015

The Williamson County Regional Airport surpassed the 2014 goal of 10,000 enplanements on December 22nd. In achieving this objective in partnership with Cape Air, the airport will receive the Federal Aviation Administration’s $1 million funding to cover eligible airport improvements. The FAA entitlements are entirely user-funded with no cost to taxpayers.

"The continued success of Cape Air is certainly a result of affordable, reliable, and frequent flights, allowing passengers to benefit from our airport's free parking, easy check-in procedures, and connect to St. Louis in only forty minutes,” said Doug Kimmel, Airport Manager. “Their success allows us to pursue capital improvement projects such as construction of the new airline terminal, which in turn, will benefit their operations and passengers by providing a more efficient and modern facility. It's a win-win situation for everyone, and a great success story in a regional air service market."

Cape Air has worked in tandem with the Williamson County Regional Airport to exceed the 10,000 enplanements goal for the past four years, while delivering increased airport awareness and investment in Williamson County through sponsorships and community engagement.

“Reaching 10,000 enplanements is a goal we strive to accomplish each year in partnership with the Williamson County Regional Airport,” said Linda Markham, President of Cape Air.  We are thrilled to have once again reached that goal, and we look forward to serving the citizens in and around Marion for many years to come.”

Cape Air operates daily, year-round flights from the Williamson County Regional Airport to Lambert- St. Louis International Airport. With Cape Air’s free inter-terminal shuttle, Cape Air passengers enjoy seamless connections to their terminals without security rescreening.
