Self-Service Check-In Check-In Times


We encourage passengers to check-in online within 24-hours of their flight departure time. If not using self-service check-in, please go to the Cape Air counter, where our agents will assist with your reservation, check your bags, and collect your weight. 

 

Am I eligible to check-in online?

  • Most customers on domestic flights with electronic tickets may check-in online – including TravelPass customers.
  • Most customers on international flights departing from San Juan with electronic tickets may check-in online.
  • Customers departing from Tortola, Nevis or Virgin Gorda may not check-in online due to international security and passport verification requirements.
  • Customers departing from New York/JFK may not check-in online as these flights operate in conjunction with JetBlue Airways.
  • Customers who are unaccompanied minors may not check-in online.
  • Customers traveling with pets or service animals may not check-in online.
  • Customer with paper tickets (our older commuter vouchers) may not check-in online.

 If you are checking bags:

  • If you are departing from Boston, Portland, Billings, Chicago, St. Louis, Nashville, San Juan, St. Thomas, or St. Croix, please be at the ticket counter at least 45 minutes before departure.
  • If you are departing from all other cities, please be at the ticket counter at least 30 minutes before departure time.
  • Our agents at our ticket counters will also collect passenger weights at this time.

 If you are not checking bags:

  • If departing from Boston, Portland, Billings, Chicago, St. Louis, Nashville, San Juan, St. Thomas, or St. Croix, you may use your online boarding pass to go directly to the TSA screening checkpoint and go to the Cape Air gate. You must recheck with a Cape Air agent 30 minutes before departure time at the gate, as we must collect passenger weights, weigh your carry on baggage and complete check-in at the gate.
  • If departing from all other cities, you must recheck with a Cape Air agent 30 minutes before departure time at the airport ticket counter, as we must collect passenger weights, weigh your carry on baggage and complete check-in requirements.

 

Online check-in perks:

  • You may change your own flight in the online check-in process to an earlier flight on the same day of travel if one is available at the same fare as your original ticket.
  • Customers departing from our hub cities can skip the ticket counter line and go right to the gate if not checking bags.
  • If you are connecting onward to another flight with American, Delta, JetBlue, or United Airlines, we can provide your connecting flight boarding pass.
  • If you have a TSA Known traveler number, you may enter this yourself if not previously entered.
