New Schedule Change to Accommodate Later St. Louis Connections

March 14, 2014

Travelers will soon see a later Owensboro departure option when connecting in St. Louis.  Effective March 28, Cape Air will move the last flight to Owensboro on Tuesday – Friday from its current time of 5:32 p.m. to 6:38 p.m.  The retimed flight will arrive in Owensboro at 7:51 p.m.  The new schedule is in response to passenger requests for an evening flight to Owensboro during the week to accommodate later arriving connecting flights in St. Louis.

“We found that a number of travelers, particularly business travelers, were unable to use Cape Air because the last flight to Owensboro left too early for them to comfortably connect,” said Linda Markham, President of Cape Air.  “By moving the last flight to Owensboro to one hour later, we anticipate that our service will become a viable option for travelers who are currently using other airports for their travel needs due to timing and connectivity issues in St. Louis.”

"Cape Air is continually working on its schedules, marketing campaigns, community involvement and customer service to better serve our region,” said Bob Whitmer, Airport Manager at the Owensboro Daviess County Regional Airport. I don't think most people realize how fortunate Owensboro and Daviess County residents and businesses are to have Cape Air service in our community."

Other flights throughout the week will also be retimed to accommodate the new schedule.  The first morning flight on Tuesday – Friday will be moved forward one hour, from 6:00 a.m. to 7:06 a.m. to accommodate the later evening return time.  The Monday and weekend schedules will remain unchanged.  Overall market capacity will remain the same at 18 round trip flights per week.
