New Service to Culebra & Virgin Gorda

February 14, 2014
Cape Air continues its growth in the Caribbean by adding service between San Juan and Culebra and between San Juan and Virgin Gorda. Beginning on February 15, four daily flights will operate between San Juan and Culebra and three daily flights will operate between San Juan and Virgin Gorda. Passengers can book their reservations now on capeair.com or by calling 800-CAPE-AIR (284-495-2100 in the BVI).

“This is an exciting time for Cape Air, we are providing our customers with greater schedule options and access to more destinations throughout the Caribbean and the new service will benefit travelers and locals alike,” said Linda Markham, President of Cape Air.

Cape Air just took delivery of three Britten Norman Islander BN-20s that are specifically suited to the needs of short runway markets like Culebra and Virgin Gorda. The Britten-Norman Islander is a nine passenger, high wing, twin-engine aircraft with the capability to land on short runways. “Cape Air keeps building a strong foundation as it continues to invest in its future by adding more planes to its fuel-efficient fleet,” said Markham.

“Our Five Star Island is a diverse destination that offers something for everyone. The new Cape Air flights make Puerto Rico even more attractive to those looking for the perfect Caribbean getaway,” stated Ingrid Rivera Rocafort, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. “The convenient daily flight schedule between Culebra and San Juan gives visitors the opportunity to experience more of our beautiful home during their stay. We look forward to continue working together with Cape Air in our goal to give travelers more options and stimulate the economic development of the tourism industry,” she added.

“The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board is excited about Cape Air’s expanded service into our destination. Guests travelling to Virgin Gorda now have another seamless transfer option. We applaud Cape Air for their initiative and dedication to our islands,” said Sharon Flax-Mars, Director of Tourism for the British Virgin Islands.

Cape Air has been offering frequent daily flights throughout the Caribbean since 1998. With its Caribbean hub in San Juan, Cape Air operates more than 100 daily flights to St. Thomas, St. Croix, Tortola, Vieques, Mayaguez, Anguilla, Nevis, and now Culebra and Virgin Gorda.
