Cape Air - Qatar

November 14, 2018

Qatar Airways has partnered with U.S.-based airline Cape Air to provide passengers seamless travel and greater connectivity when traveling between the U.S. and to more than 150 destinations in the award-winning airline’s network. The new interline agreement taking effect from November 12, 2018, marks more than 10 successful years of flights to the U.S.

The partnership allows Qatar Airways passengers to tap into Cape Air’s growing short-haul regional network that currently serves 34 cities including popular U.S. vacation destinations such as Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President of the Americas, Eric Odone, said: “We are excited to welcome Cape Air to our list of interline partners as it provides enhanced connectivity and increased convenience to our passengers travelling throughout the Americas during their journey with us. We are proud to be one of the leading global connectors – this strategic partnership further allows Qatar Airways to expand its regional footprint and offers Cape Air passengers an easier way to travel to new leisure and business locales within our network of over 150 exciting destinations.”

“The core of the commitments we make to our customers is being able to connect their communities,” said Cape Air President, Linda Markham. “This new partnership with Qatar is an example of how as airlines we can work together to open up countless economic and leisure opportunities, and also bring communities a little bit closer. We are thrilled to be able to expand our connectivity, and align with a partner that shares that priority.”

Qatar Airways’ strong commitment to the U.S. market has been seen with the launch of 10 gateways over the past decade. Qatar Airways proudly operates in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

At the forefront of innovation and luxury, Qatar Airways recently launched its groundbreaking Business Class experience, Qsuite, across select U.S. routes. The reigning Skytrax award winner for “Best Business Class Seat”, Qsuite, features the industry’s first-ever double bed available in Business Class and private cabins for up to four people with privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room, a first of its kind in the industry. Adjustable panels and movable TV monitors on the center four seats allow colleagues, friends or families travelling together to transform their space into a private suite, allowing them to work, dine and socialize together. Qsuite currently operates on the airline’s New York, Washington D.C., Houston and Chicago routes, with operations to commence in early 2019 on Dallas and Los Angeles routes.

Now in its 29th year, Cape Air is one of the largest independent regional airlines in the United States, serving 34 cities in the US and the Caribbean. The employee-owned company, based in Hyannis, Massachusetts, has grown from three flights a day between Provincetown and Boston in 1989 to a fleet of 83 Cessna 402’s, 400 flights a day and service to over 500,000 passengers annually. Cape Air has been recognized as “One of the Top Ten Small Airlines in the World” by Condé Nast Traveler.

A multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Business Class’ by the 2018 World Airline Awards, managed by international air transport rating organization Skytrax. It was also named ‘Best Business Class Seat,’ ‘Best Airline in the Middle East,’ and ‘World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge.’

One of the world’s fastest-growing airlines, Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 200 aircraft flying to business and leisure destinations across six continents. As part of its continued expansion plans, the airline also recently commenced service to both Chiang Mai and Pattaya, Thailand; Penang, Malaysia; Da Nang, Vietnam and Canberra, Australia. The airline plans to launch a host of new destinations in 2019, including Gothenburg, Sweden; Mombasa, Kenya and Da Nang, Vietnam.
