Cape Air Increases Service with Additional Flight to Rockland

June 15, 2015

Cape Air, the Essential Air Service (EAS) provider serving the Knox County Regional Airport in Rockland, has added one extra summer flight, for a grand total of six daily round-trips to Boston’s Logan International Airport. Due to the increase in demand, Cape Air will be augmenting their existing schedule from June 24 through September 8, 2015 with the additional flight.

Linda Markham, President of Cape Air/Nantucket Airlines said, “Strong community support in the Rockland-region, and all of Maine has enabled Cape Air's service to grow and remain sustainable for travelers of all kinds. We are delighted to increase our summer service pattern to six daily round trips, and look forward to continued growth in ridership.”

“We're really excited about having an extra flight available to serve our customers and we look forward to seeing Cape Air continue to grow out at the airport,” adds Jeffrey Northgraves, Knox County Regional Airport Manager.

Cape Air started service at the airport in February of 2008, and has since seen a strong increase in the amount of passenger traffic. Last year, Cape Air carried more than 13,000 passengers in and out of the Knox County Regional Airport. Cape Air serves Augusta State Airport and Bar Harbor-Hancock County Regional Airport in Maine, as well as 16 additional airports in New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
