Cape Air Re-selected as Air Service Provider for Lebanon Municipal Airport

September 25, 2018

The US Department of Transportation has awarded a four year contract to Cape Air to continue providing commercial air service from Boston, MA and White Plains, NY to Lebanon Municipal Airport. The Essential Air Service contract extension begins December 1, 2018 and will run through November 30, 2022. There will not be an interruption in flight service as Cape Air transitions to the new contract period.

Cape Air will maintain its current 4 daily, nonstop round trip flights to Boston’s Logan International Airport and 2 daily, nonstop round trip flights to Westchester County Airport in White Plains. Cape Air also offers ground transportation from Westchester County Airport into Manhattan for an easy connection to New York City.

“We are excited to continue our positive relationship with the Lebanon Municipal Airport and surrounding community,” said Cape Air President, Linda Markham. “We take pride in acting as an economic driver for the Lebanon area, and are pleased to continue connecting this community with Boston, New York, and beyond through the major carriers flying out of Boston. “

“On  behalf of the Lebanon Municipal Airport, we are sure Lebanon and the Upper Valley appreciate Cape Air’s continued enhancement of service since their tenure, from adding Manhattan as a destination only 2 ½ hours door-to-door, to adding a full-time mechanic at LEB, to improved codeshares with major airlines,” said Lebanon Municipal Airport Manager, Rick Dyment.  “The Lebanon Airport will continue to work together with Cape Air to optimize Cape Air’s service and increase passengers carried even further.”

Over the past ten years the Lebanon Municipal Airport and Cape Air have developed a positive partnership that has resulted in strong ridership numbers to both Boston’s Logan International Airport and Westchester County Airport. Cape Air has helped the Lebanon Municipal Airport reach its goal of 10,000 annual enplanements for six consecutive years. The City and Cape Air plan to continue to strengthen their partnership and community relations over the next four years.

“We are excited that Cape Air will continue to be part of the Lebanon Airport for the future,” said Lebanon Chamber of Commerce President, Rob Taylor. “The Chamber has worked closely with Cape Air to demonstrate the great value that they bring to our transportation system. We look forward to continuing these efforts and in particular are excited for the new aircraft coming online soon.”
