Quoted fare includes base fare, surcharges and 7.5% US excise tax and the following:


Travel within the United States:

  • Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9.00 each way
  • September 11 Security Fees of up to $2.50 each way
  • Federal Segment Tax of $3.70 per domestic segment. A segment is a takeoff and landing.

For travel between the Continental United States and Puerto Rico:

  • Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9.00 each way
  • September 11 Security Fees of up to $5.00 each way

For travel between the United States and international locations:

  • Passenger Facility Charges of up to $9.00 each way.
  • September 11 Security Fees of $2.50 per U.S. enplanement up to a maximum of $5.00 each way.
  • International arrival/departure tax of up to $20.00 for each arrival and departure in the U.S.
  • APHIS User Fee of up to $5.00.
  • Federal Inspection Fee of up to $7.00.
  • Airport Development Tax of up to $10.00 (Anguilla).
  • Airport Expansion Tax of up to $5.00 (Anguilla).
  • Hold Baggage Tax of up to $5.00 (Anguilla).
  • Non-U.S. government taxes of up to $39.00 each way.


There's a $10 fee per animal, each way. Discount coupon book holders travel with their animal for free.


We accept 1 piece of checked baggage per ticketed passenger with a maximum weight of 50 lbs. and size of 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height) plus 1 gate checked bag sized to pass through TSA screening and which would fit into the overhead bin of a connecting flight jet aircraft. Excess baggage is transported on a space available basis and additional charges apply:

  • For travel exclusively on Cape Air marketed flights.  (Flights sold under the 9K airline designator.)  All bags below must meet the size and weight restrictions noted in the section entitled Bag Allowance. The below charges apply each way and are cumulative.

    • Free – One (1) checked bag
    • Free – One (1) gate checked bag
    • Free – One (1) personal item
    • Free – Additional free carry-out items (e.g. assistance-related devices)
    • $40 – a second or third checked bag, per bag
    • $40 – any bag that exceeds the standard baggage allowance in either weight or size

    Note:  the increase in fees above from $25 – $40 is effective for reservations booked on or after October 15, 2013.

Cape Air currently markets and operates under its own designated code (“9K”), Continental Airlines’ code (“CO”), JetBlue’s code (“B6”), American Airlines’ code (AA”), and United Airlines’code (“UA), and participates in a variety of interline, code share and other marketing agreements with airline partners. For flights marketed and sold under the name and code of another airline, the baggage allowances and fees of the other airline apply throughout the itinerary, including the Cape Air portion.
